Things I've Loved in May
A month full of celebrations, good food, cold weather and slightly slower days.
Welcome back to my series called: “The things I’ve loved in - insert month here”
This series covers anything and everything I’ve enjoyed for the past month. From skincare to dinner recipes, books, music, clothes and tv-series.
I hope you’ll enjoy it - if nothing else, it’s a chance to get to know me a bit better.

Favourite bakes
The bread that was out of this world soft! Or maybe it was the Sourdough Cardamom buns? Or the Sourdough Naan?!
It’s been a good baking month if you can’t tell. I’ll drop all the links below for each of the recipes so you can check them out if you want!
Eat out’s
Would you believe me if I said I haven’t eaten out this month? I went to a cafe once, but that was it.
So I guess that’s good for my wallet, but not so good for this section of the post!
Mooooooving on 😅
Dinner recipe on repeat
This orecchiette with spicy chorizo and tomatoes 🤌🏼 Or maybe our loaded nachos.
Gosh, I don’t think I can decide here either! But it’s got to be one of those. So simple but so good.
Recipe for the orecchiette will be up next week. And I’m happy to share the nachos too - but honestly it’s not very much of a recipe😅
Things I’ve been proud of
I released my hybrid buns pdf guide at the end of May, and I am so proud of it and truly so grateful for the response and everyone who purchased it! It does not come easy to me to express pride over things I have done, but I’m working on getting better at it.
I’ve worked really hard to make sure it covers everything and is more than just a recipe. If you haven’t seen it you can check it out here: Sweet Buns Guide (hybrid edition).
And hopefully I will have the Sourdough edition ready in June so stay tuned for that! Sign up to my email list if you want to be notified
Music I’ve been listening to
This month has been all about slowing down a bit after a hectic period. That’s been reflected in my music too, so I’ve listened to a lot of piano!
This is the playlist that’s been on repeat ( and the radio based off it is pretty great!)
Cultural things I’ve done
Celebrating the 17th of may!
Read all about it here:
TV-series
Oooh I have a good one here:
Code of Silence!!! It is so so good. Classic British crime/investigative/police drama, but with a twist seeing as the main character is deaf.
I don’t want to say too much, but we binged through this in 2 evenings and wished there was more to watch. So I guess that speaks for itself.
Skincare
I haven’t been using anything new but just really love the lineup I’ve got going at the moment and how it makes my skin look and feel. So figured I would share the whole crew (everything is linked through my amazon storefront). These are all my everyday favourites:
Cleansers:
BANILA CO Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Nourishing - Melts away makeup so effortlessly without leaving an oily film.
ANUA Rice Enzyme Brightening Cleansing Powder - A powder cleanser that transforms into a foam and is a lovely second cleanser.
Serums:
COSRX 6X Peptide Collagen Skin Booster* - An instant boost of hydration for your face. I use this morning and evening.
SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica Ampoule* - Calming serum that adds such a natural glow. I use this every morning!
Creams:
ISNTREE Hyaluronic Acid Moist Cream* - So hydrating and great for both day and night.
SKIN1004 Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum* - Just about the only face sun cream I don’t break out from. Love love love. A daily must.
PURITO Centella Eye Cream* - Lightweight and gentle eye cream that soothes and sits nicely under makeup.
COSRX Full Fit Propolis Honey Overnight Mask* - I use this in the wintertime as a night cream when my skin is super dry.
Treatments:
PURITO SEOUL Timeless Bloom Bakuchiol Serum - I’ve raved about this before and I’ll rave about it again: a true glow magician. An affordable and natural alternative to retinol. I use this every evening.
Books I’ve been reading
I’m still working my way through Brimstone* - it’s been a slow reading month so I still haven’t finished it. I am enjoying it though!
Next on my list is re-reading ACOTAR to prepare for the new books that are coming in the series.
That’s all for May - I’d love to hear some of your favourites of the month! 🤎
