Hello!
I'm back - and reaching out to all fellow foodies!
Hello hello hello,
I don’t know how to start this post, to be honest. I'm new on Substack and just getting started out on here - like so many others. I’ve had several blogs, websites and creative outlets since I was 13-years old, but for the past 5 years I haven’t been writing. I slowly got back into sharing my food and sourdough baking on Instagram a couple of years ago, but haven’t found an outlet for writing and longer posts - until now.
I'm nearly 30, and to be honest, I miss having a space where I can share thoughts, recipes and bits of knowledge - the way I did back in my teens when blogs were all the hype. I miss the social aspect of connecting with people from around the world, with similar interests, through a mutual platform where we all write. So that’s where Substack came in for me. I slowly discovered that people I follow on Instagram were using this as a space to share more knowledge and long-form content, and slowly my interest grew. Now, here I am. Writing my first post.
I love the idea that we all know different things and can teach each other something and learn from each other if only we stop to listen, read and pay attention to what is happening and being shared around us.
I am hoping that this page can be an outlet where I can share more about my interest in food, baking and all things sourdough. My passion for making real food, made from scratch. Without the aim of perfection, and without the trends – just delicious, simple meals with real ingredients. This will be my outlet for teaching you that homemade doesn’t have to be hard. I want it to be genuine and unfiltered. Just a one-to-one catch up about all things food.
I hope you will follow along, and please say hi in the comments if you’re a fellow foodie/baker/sourdough enthusiast! I would love to connect and meet some people on here :)
Love, Em
